CATABUS, CATAGO!, and CATARIDE Fall 2023 Service Changes
Service Changes to Take Effect Thursday, August 17, 2023
Below is a list of service changes to CATABUS, CATAGO, and CATARIDE that will take effect on Thursday, August 17, 2023, with the start of full service (maps and timetables associated with these changes will be available here in the coming weeks).
CATABUS Service Changes
The XB Route Removal
The CATABUS XB route will transition to CATAGO! microtransit service, which can be used from the Bellefonte area to access the CATABUS College Avenue Connector route at the Walmart/Ross/Harbor Freight stop with a free transfer.

Changes to Mount Nittany Medical Center/Innovation Park Service
Based on ridership studies Penn State University has discontinued funding the Red Link service to Mount Nittany Medical Center and Innovation Park. In lieu of the Red Link, Penn State will now be offering a weekday campus shuttle via their Beaver Avenue route that will serve Mount Nittany Medical Center and Innovation Park. CATAGO! microtransit service will be available from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m on Saturdays and from noon – 8 p.m. on Sundays with a direct link from Beaver Avenue at Schlow Library/CATA Customer Service Center to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

CATAGO! Service Changes
CATAGO! Centre Area West Zone

The CATAGO! Microtransit zones will expand by one hour on Saturdays until 8 p.m.
The combined Northwest and Southwest CATAGO! microtransit zones, now introduced as Centre Area West Microtransit zone, will service the areas of Park Forest, Science Park, Pine Grove Mills, some neighborhoods within State College Borough, and the vicinity. This zone will operate Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- The Centre Area West zone will provide numerous destination points outside the zone (listed below), linking the zone with the College Avenue Connector.

Boalsburg CATAGO! Zone
The introduction of an expanded CATAGO! zone in Boalsburg to better serve the many medical offices in Scenery Park. This change would simply be extending the current zone to include the area where the medical offices are located and would not result in any additional cost. Riders can also travel to Mount Nittany Medical Center from this zone.

CATARIDE Fare Increase
CATARIDE fare will increase from $4.00 to $4.25. There will be no changes to the current $2.20 CATAGO! or CATABUS fares.
