Bellefonte/Benner B-Line operated by CATA
Will go into Effect Monday, July 1st, 2024

Service Announcement:
Due to the withdrawal of Bellefonte Borough and Benner Township from CATA’s services, the current Bellefonte/Benner B-Line service contract with CATA will expire on June 30th, 2025. Centre County Transportation Services will fill the gap in these areas starting July 1st, 2025. The county transportation office provides free transportation for residents aged 60 and older and charges $4.25 per trip for individuals with disabilities or those receiving medical assistance. All other riders within the Bellefonte Borough will be charged a $5.00 per ride fee. Riders will need to reserve trips by 2 p.m. the day prior to travel, and trips will be shared with other passengers, similar to a carpool system. Bellefonte/Benner B-Line passengers can also coordinate with CATACommute Van pool.
· Available for commuters starting or ending in the greater State College area.
· Eligible vanpools can receive up to $600 monthly subsidy per vehicle from CATA.
· Maintenance, insurance, roadside assistance and emergency ride home are included.
· Less wear and tear on your personal vehicle or an option for those without reliable transportation.
· Month-to-month flexibility.
· Increased job accessibility.
Important notice: B-Line is a 90% reduction in service over the previous CATAGO service. Trips will be allocated on a FIRST-come, FIRST-served basis and many riders will “NOT” receive their desired trip on a daily basis. Please plan accordingly.

Days and hours of service
- Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Fare
- $4.00 per trip Cash-only fare.
- No passes or tokens.
- Free Transfers can be made to CATABUS routes.
- No transfers can be made to CATAGO; you must pay for each trip.
Service
- Patrons can pick up or drop off at any of the 20 designated destination points while utilizing the B-Line service.
- Connection to CATABUS can be made at the main entrance of the Nittany Mall, where the CC fixed route bus stop is located.
Trip Scheduling
- You can register by calling 814-238-8900 starting June 3rd.
- Trip scheduling will be by call-in only (814-238-8900) and from the hours of 8 am - 5 pm the business day prior to your intended trip; this will be on a first-come basis.
- No subscription trips will be allowed.
- Patrons can book for themselves and a plus 1.
Additional points outside the B-Line service area are below
- Walmart on Benner Pike (Pharmacy door at the front of the store).
- Walmart on Benner Pike (CATABUS stop on the west side of the parking lot closest to Ross's Dress for Less).
These would be described at locations outside the B-Line service area to connect to CATABUS and CATAGO!
