Beginning July 1, 2026, CATA will introduce updated transportation options for riders traveling to Mount Nittany Health locations. These changes are designed to provide continued access to medical appointments through a combination of demand-response services and CATAGO! service.
Mount Nittany Medical Center (Park Avenue)
Starting July 1, Penn State Transportation will no longer operate a shuttle to Mt. Nittany Medical Center on Park Ave. CATA intends to offer alternative transportation options to that destination through a new demand-response service.
This service will operate seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and must be scheduled in advance. Riders may book trips up to 14 days ahead of their appointment and no later than the evening before travel.
Service is available only to riders who live within the designated service area shown on the accompanying map. One-way fares are $2.50, the same as a regular CATA fare.
Riders should review the service area map to confirm eligibility before scheduling a trip.

Mount Nittany Health Toftrees
Beginning July 1, trips to Mount Nittany Health Toftrees can be booked through CATAGO! for riders who live within the Centre Area West CATAGO! service zone.

This change is intended to replace access to Mount Nittany Health Toftrees when H Route access to the facility is discontinued with Fall Service Changes on August 17. Riders may request trips on demand through CATAGO! or schedule rides in advance. The fare is $2.50 per trip.
Free Transfers Available
As a reminder, transfers between CATABUS and CATAGO! services are free.
If your trip requires more than one CATABUS or CATAGO! ride to complete a one-way journey, ask the driver of the first vehicle you board for a transfer when you board. Transfers are valid for up to one hour and may be used as fare for the next trip needed to continue your journey. Transfers cannot be used for return trips.
For assistance scheduling a ride, contact the CATA Customer Service Center at (814) 238-CATA (2282).
